The rescue of 33 workers who go nineteen days trapped in a mine in northern Chile will continue until the end of the year, as acknowledged by the President Sebastián Piñera.
The miners who were trapped last August 5 in San José mine, near the city of Copiapo, some 830 kilometers from Santiago, have begun to regularly receive food and medical and psychological care that aims to prepare them for a long wait underground.
Experts and officials were surprised by the good condition of the trapped miners. On Tuesday, the rescuers were preparing to install the 30-ton machine that could begin its work in two days and take another 120 in digging a canal of about 70 centimeters in diameter that will return them to the surface from the gallery which are held captive, almost 700 meters deep.
It was big news that given when chile knew that the miners were alive :)
